And it is really fun to use this beautiful piece of old glas.Īnyone using Corel Paintshop Pro? I have been using it since the X2 version and will be upgrading to the current one soon.I have used it since it was Jasc Paintshop Pro version 8 With my K1-II i finally felt home again with Pentax, it's viewfinder is close to as good as the viewfinder of the MX. The viewfinders simply weren't good enough for me to be able to.

I never was able to use manual focus with the K100, K200 and K7 i owned. I bought this lens shortly after i bought my first Pentax camera, the Pentax MX. I haven't used this lens in a long time until i bought my current K1-II camera. This is something the "lower" versions of the 70-20 doesn't have.

The Series 1 has the great design that when something is in focus, when zooming, it stay's in focus. I think it's by far the best manual zoom lens in this range that exists mostly because the 1 grip design for focus as well as zooming. I really love my Vivitar 70-210 Series 1. And you need the right camera profile to be able to open the RAW files. Only a handfull of camera profiles are as default loaded. There are a huge number of camera profiles you can download and apply to Corel Aftershot.

You can edit an image, lets say a picture of you're grey card for the white balance and with a copy-paste menu function apply that to all the other pictures that need the same white balance. Finally a program that can batch RAW files with the use of an eyedropper tool and even is not to expensive, just € 59.99. Would it be worth dusting off the Vivitar and trying it on my K3 or K5 bodies? Do you have any advice for using older lenses?

These are collecting dust along with a box full of other old lenses I used for my Pentax film cameras. I also have a Vivitar Tele Converter 3x-22. I have a Vivitar 70-210 1:4.5 Macro-Zoom. I also noticed that you list a Vivitar 70-210 1:3.5. Are you using DNG or PEF? Why do you prefer one over the other? Another member told me that the program works well for RAW DNG files. Have you ever heard of a lens made by Makinon? I have a an 80-200 1:4.5 Macro Zoom that fits the K3. Not knowing what to do, I have been doing the opposite-going for the maximum value.

I am sure the Vivitar used to fit my K1000. Vivitar 70-210mm 1:4.5 MC Macro Focusing Zoom Lens Reviews - Vivitar Lenses - Pentax Lens Review DatabaseWell how peculiar. The constant aperture is also an advantage for an A-lens on a DSLR because the missing communication prevents the camera from knowing the current aperture on a variable aperture zoom.

It has some flaws but all in all it is not a bad lens and the push-pull zoom design is a convenient solution for a manual focus lens in my opinion.Īs the lens can't communicate the current focal length to the camera I usually enter 70mm in the camera, that way the SR system doesn't overreact when used and I can always identify the lens via the exif data (as I don't have another lens that starts at 70mm focal length). I also have the Vivitar 70-210mm 1:4.5 Macro Zoom.
